06/16/2025, 15:57On June 16, a new production line was launched at the Kant Cement Plant, built with the support of the Chinese company Beijing Triumph Engineering and the Eurasian Development Bank. The investment in the project exceeded $60 million. The new line will allow for the production of an additional 800,000 tons of clinker, the main component of cement, annually.
President Sadyr Zhaparov noted that the modernization of the plant will strengthen the country's industrial potential and increase the supply of domestic demand in the construction industry, which is experiencing growth: in the first three months of 2025 alone, 3,300 houses were commissioned. According to him, this is part of a broad strategy to attract investment and support the real sector of the economy.
The Kant Cement Plant remains one of the country's largest taxpayers: in 2023, the enterprise paid more than KGS 1 billion to the budget, and in 2024, the amount increased by another KGS 158 million. With the launch of the new line, more than 300 jobs will be created at the plant, in addition to the 800 already in place.
Last year, the plant produced over 1.1 million tons of cement. After the expansion, volumes are expected to almost double, which will allow the plant to meet growing domestic demand and strengthen its position in the foreign market.
