01/03/2025, 11:03Kyrgyzstan has concluded double taxation agreements with almost 40 countries. These agreements began to be signed in the early years of independence, and their number has now reached 37.
Such agreements play an important role in preventing the situation when the same income is taxed in two countries. This helps reduce risks for foreign investors, improves the transparency of tax systems and stimulates capital attraction. In addition, they help to combat tax evasion by ensuring the exchange of information between the state authorities of partner countries.
In addition, Kyrgyzstan is actively continuing to expand the network of such agreements. On December 2, 2024, the Jogorku Kenesh considered a draft law concerning the abolition of double taxation with Singapore. Deputy Minister of Economy Iskender Asylkulov noted that the annual trade turnover between the countries is only $4.5 million, but the abolition of double taxation could become an incentive to attract new investments from Singapore.
