This is a pilot project that could provide internet access to remote and hard-to-reach regions of the country. The government views Starlink as a component of basic digital infrastructure.
The meetings in the U.S. took place on the sidelines of the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. In addition to SpaceX, the delegation held talks with Meta Platforms, NVIDIA, and Oracle Corporation.
With Meta, the parties agreed to establish a working group on information security and the implementation of AI/AR tools. Discussions with NVIDIA and Oracle focused on the development of AI infrastructure and cloud solutions.
A separate block of talks concerned financial cooperation. Kasymaliev met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, where they discussed the sanctions agenda, the banking sector, and visa regulations.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, Kyrgyzstan also presented macroeconomic indicators to international institutions: GDP growth for 2025 stood at 11.1%.
At the same time, infrastructure projects were discussed, including the construction of the Kambarata HPP-1, the creation of a logistics hub by 2030, and participation in the World Bank’s agricultural initiative.
