06/19/2026, 13:47Sadyr Zhaparov ratified the Economic Partnership Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and the United Arab Emirates. The document was signed by the heads of state of the EAEU and the UAE on June 27, 2025, in Minsk.
The agreement aims to liberalize trade, simplify trade procedures, and develop economic cooperation between the EAEU member states and the UAE. One of the key provisions of the document is the elimination of customs duties on a number of goods, as well as the simplification of market access for products from both sides.
The Cabinet of Ministers notes that the implementation of the agreement will allow Kyrgyz exporters to supply a number of key goods to the United Arab Emirates market duty-free. The list includes lamb, beef, canned meat and meat by-products, honey, nuts, dried vegetables, fruit juices, and fermented milk products.
In addition to agricultural products, the agreement opens up additional opportunities for domestic industry. Kyrgyzstan will be able to export clothing patterns, packaging bags and sacks, suits made of synthetic and cotton fabrics, T-shirts, undershirts, and incandescent light bulbs to the UAE.
The document also regulates the application of standards and technical regulations, as well as sanitary, veterinary, and phytosanitary measures, and provides for the development of cooperation in the areas of e-commerce, intellectual property, government procurement, competition, and customs administration.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, the agreement will provide Kyrgyzstan with expanded access to the UAE market, not only in the area of trade in goods but also in services and investment. It is expected that this could contribute to an increase in trade volume, the creation of new jobs, growth in household income, and a strengthening of citizens’ purchasing power.
The Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs must now notify the Eurasian Economic Commission of the completion of the domestic procedures necessary for the agreement to enter into force.
