Kyrgyzstanis and businesses are increasingly confident that prices will rise faster — inflation expectations are strengthening

Inflation expectations in the country continue to shift toward higher price growth rates among both households and businesses. According to the latest surveys, the share of those who expect inflation to accelerate has grown significantly compared to previous periods.

Among households in June 2025, almost 31% of respondents expect prices to rise faster — one of the highest figures in recent years. On the contrary, the share of those who hope for a decline in prices remains minimal. At the same time, a significant part of the population still forecasts a moderate increase in the cost of goods and services, although optimism about price stability is waning.

A similar picture can be observed in the business environment: in June, companies showed an increase in expectations of accelerating inflation to about 23%. Almost half of companies are confident that prices will rise moderately. The segment that expects prices to remain stable is gradually shrinking. As a result, both the population and businesses are increasingly looking toward price increases, which may influence market pricing behavior in the coming months.
