06/03/2025, 16:37The Committee on Social Policy of the Jogorku Kenesh approved in the first reading an agreement between Kyrgyzstan and China on social security.
According to Gulnura Zhumataeva, Deputy Chairman of the Social Fund, the agreement will give Kyrgyz citizens working in China and Chinese citizens working in Kyrgyzstan the right to receive pensions.
In 2024, 2,112 Chinese citizens officially worked in Kyrgyzstan. According to the tax service, they paid 322.8 million KGS in insurance premiums last year.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as of February 1 this year, 546 Kyrgyz citizens were on consular registration in the cities of Beijing and Guangzhou. However, the total number of Kyrgyz citizens in China is estimated at about 2,000 people.
