07/01/2026, 12:31In 2025, people in Kyrgyzstan were consuming more meat, dairy products, fruit and eggs than in previous years.
According to statistics, average consumption of meat and meat products rose to 4.4 kilograms per person per month, milk and dairy products to 20.8 kilograms, and fruit and berries to 8 kilograms. Egg consumption increased to 11.5 eggs per person per month.
At the same time, Kyrgyz people have started eating fewer potatoes. Whilst in 2019 the average consumption per person was 10.6 kilograms of potatoes per month, by 2025 this had fallen to 8.4 kilograms.
Consumption of sugar and confectionery has also fallen in recent years, standing at 1.8 kilograms per person per month. Consumption of vegetable oil has remained virtually unchanged at 1.1 kilograms.
Meanwhile, consumption of bread and bakery products in 2025 stood at 17.5 kilograms per person per month, which is slightly higher than the previous year’s figure.
