08/10/2026, 09:16China has become the main overseas destination for investors from Kyrgyzstan. In 2025, $16.2 million was channelled into the Chinese economy — almost two-thirds of all outbound investment from the country.
Over the course of the year, the volume of investment in China increased by $2.8 million, or by almost 21 per cent. In 2024, it stood at $13.4 million. Kyrgyz investors were particularly active in the third quarter, with $12.8 million channelled into China over those three months.
Overall, in 2025, $25.9 million was invested from Kyrgyzstan into other countries. This is almost 49 per cent more than the previous year. However, the geographical spread of the investments proved to be extremely narrow. Virtually all the funds were distributed amongst China, Germany and Kazakhstan.
Germany came second, receiving $7.3 million. A further $2.4 million was invested in Kazakhstan. There were virtually no investments in the other EAEU and CIS countries.
