The decision was a continuation of a process that began back in December 2025. On December 2, the board of directors reviewed a letter from the executive body regarding the reorganization of the branches. Thus, the shareholders’ April decision marked the next stage of the previously initiated corporate restructuring.
The most notable decision concerns BGTS—one of the most recognizable entities in Kyrgyzstan’s fixed-line telecommunications system.
At the same time, shareholders approved the new version of the charter at the meeting.
As a reminder, control over Kyrgyztelecom is concentrated in the hands of the state. The largest shareholder is the Ministry of Digital Development, with a 78.3% stake (176.2 million shares), while another 11.7% belongs to the Social Fund (26.4 million shares). Collectively, state entities control 90.96% of the company’s capital.
In addition, the company has a broad base of minority shareholders, including 9,531 individual shareholders and 28 corporate shareholders.
