The number of bank cards in Kyrgyzstan has increased 2.7-fold over the past five years

The number of bank cards in circulation in Kyrgyzstan has increased by almost 2.7 times over the past five years. In 2020, there were 3.39 million, and by the end of 2024, the figure had reached 9.18 million cards.

Bishkek accounts for the largest number of bank cards. In the capital, 5.02 million cards were in circulation in 2024, compared with 1.3 million in 2020. Thus, over five years, their number has increased by almost 3.9 times.

In the Osh Region, there were 1.17 million bank cards, compared with 556,100 five years earlier. In the Jalal-Abad Region, the figure rose from 487,100 to 961,500, and in the Chui Region, from 309,500 to 601,800 cards.

In the Issyk-Kul Region, the number of bank cards increased from 254,800 to 496,100; in the Batken Region, from 206,300 to 450,700; and in the Naryn Region, from 161,100 to 245,800.

In the Talas Region, there were 230.2 thousand bank cards in 2024, compared with 116.4 thousand in 2020.
