The Jogorku Kenesh Committee supported the proposal to dissolve parliament

Today, 23 September, the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Constitutional Laws, State Structure, Judicial and Legal Issues considered and approved a proposal to dissolve parliament.

According to MP Ulan Primov, this initiative was put forward by 32 elected representatives.
Primov noted that parliamentary elections are scheduled for the end of November next year, and presidential elections are scheduled for January 2027. Since two major electoral processes follow one after the other, this could lead to political instability. In addition, holding two elections in a row will require significant financial costs.

The committee members unanimously supported the proposal to dissolve parliament.
Now this issue will be considered at a plenary session of the Jogorku Kenesh.
