RWB is a free tool for detecting deepfakes

RWB (a joint venture between Wildberries and Russ) has announced the launch of an open beta version of an online service for detecting deepfakes — images created using neural networks.

The tool allows users to check whether an image has been generated by artificial intelligence. Users are provided with up to 100 free checks per month, after which the company plans to determine the further format of the service.

According to the developers, the accuracy of detecting synthetic images reaches 95%. AI artists and computer vision specialists were involved in the project, which made it possible to improve the recognition algorithms.

In the first stage, the service only analyses images, but in the future it may be expanded — the team is considering the possibility of checking video, audio and text files.

The company positions the tool as a means of increasing digital transparency and combating manipulation on the internet. Possible areas of application include verifying the authenticity of news illustrations, content from online stores, and material from social networks, where generated images are increasingly being distributed.

The open version of the detector is already available to users on the website.
