09/14/2026, 11:55Kyrgyzstan’s passport ranked second amongst the five Central Asian countries in the 2026 passport rankings. Within the region, Kyrgyz citizens can travel to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan without a prior visa. A visa is required to travel to Turkmenistan.
In the global ranking, Kyrgyzstan is in 125th place. The mobility index stands at 72. Of 198 destinations, 26 are accessible without a visa, 42 via a visa on arrival or other simplified procedures, and a further four via an electronic travel authorisation (eTA). A visa must be obtained in advance for 126 destinations.
The total proportion of accessible destinations for a Kyrgyz passport is 36.4 per cent.
It is easiest for Kyrgyz citizens to travel within Central Asia: 75 per cent of destinations are accessible with a Kyrgyz passport. Next comes the Caribbean region — 62.5 per cent, Asia – 55.1 per cent, Africa – 44.4 per cent, the Middle East – 41.2 per cent, North America – 39.1 per cent and Oceania – 35.7 per cent. The lowest level of accessibility is found in Europe – 12.8 per cent.
The longest visa-free stay is granted to Georgian passport holders – up to 360 days. In Armenia, it is up to 180 days; in Kazakhstan, Turkey, Ukraine, Moldova and Serbia – up to 90 days; and in Uzbekistan – up to 60 days.
Citizens of Kyrgyzstan are still required to obtain a visa in advance to travel to the US, the UK, Canada and the Schengen Area.
Kyrgyzstan’s position in the ranking has deteriorated in recent years. In 2020, the country ranked 114th with a mobility index of 57. In 2024, the index reached 78, and the country rose to 116th place. In 2025, Kyrgyzstan ranked 117th with an index of 75. In 2026, the index fell to 72, and the country dropped to 125th place.
