02/25/2025, 08:14Kazakhstan remains one of the key trade partners of Kyrgyzstan, demonstrating stable growth of trade turnover. This was stated by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev during a meeting with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov in Astana.
At the end of last year, the volume of bilateral trade between the countries reached $1.34 billion. Adylbek Kasymaliyev emphasized that these figures indicate positive dynamics in bilateral relations.
“These figures inspire us with a certain degree of optimism, especially in the context of the goal set by the heads of state - to bring trade turnover to $3 billion by 2030. Also in the first nine months of 2024, Kazakhstani companies invested almost $49 million in the Kyrgyz economy,” he said.
To strengthen investment co-operation, the two sides last year signed an updated intergovernmental agreement on mutual promotion and protection of investments. These initiatives confirm the potential for further expansion of bilateral economic ties, Adylbek Kasymaliyev said.
In addition to trade and investment, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan actively cooperate within the Eurasian Economic Union, the CSTO, the SCO, the Organization of Turkic States and other regional structures.
“These formats allow our countries to consolidate efforts to ensure stability, develop the economy and strengthen the position of states in the international arena”, - emphasized Adylbek Kasymaliev.
