Kyrgyzstan and Turkey set a target of increasing trade turnover to $5 billion

The 12th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, chaired by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev and Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, focused on large-scale trade development. The main goal is to increase bilateral trade turnover to $5 billion in the near future.

To achieve this goal, the parties agreed to establish joint logistics centres and certification platforms. This will allow Kyrgyz products to enter the Turkish market faster and more reliably, and through Turkey — to European markets, increasing the country's export potential.

In addition to trade, the agenda included discussions on investment, the development of interregional ties and healthcare, including projects of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Dostuk Hospital. Following the meeting, a number of documents were signed, including a new Action Plan for the development of the economy, investment, industry, agriculture, transport, tourism, healthcare and education.
