10/15/2026, 12:11Kyrgyzstan has proposed attracting Czech investment into transport infrastructure, developing rail links and simplifying transit freight transport between the two countries.
These issues were discussed by Talantbek Soltobaev, Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Ivan Bednarik, Czech Minister of Transport.
The parties considered the prospects for strengthening cooperation in the field of transport and logistics, expanding investment opportunities and implementing joint projects.
The Kyrgyz side identified as priorities the attraction of Czech investment in transport infrastructure, the application of modern European technologies in the construction and modernisation of roads, and the development of railway infrastructure.
Particular attention was paid to international road transport. In particular, it was proposed to draw up a bilateral agreement on international road transport and to consider the possibility of carrying out transit operations without permit forms. It is expected that such measures will reduce administrative barriers and simplify operations for hauliers in both countries.
In addition, the parties discussed the development of new transport corridors, increasing Kyrgyzstan’s transit capacity, establishing transport and logistics centres, improving the coordination of freight transport, and the introduction of digital technologies.
The possibility of organising joint educational programmes to train specialists in the field of transport and logistics was also considered.
During the meeting, the Kyrgyz side presented promising projects for the construction of roads and the development of rail transport.
Following the talks, the parties expressed their confidence that the proposed initiatives would contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation and the creation of new opportunities in the transport sector.
