The limit is almost reached: 1,442 electric vehicles can still be imported duty-free

The quantitative limit on duty-free imports of electric vehicles into the country will soon be reached. This was reported by the State Customs Service of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to Decision No. 130 of the EEC Council dated November 27, 2009, electric vehicles are exempt from import duties within the following limits:

  • 5,000 units in 2022,
  • 10,000 units in 2023,
  • 10,000 units in 2024,
  • 10,000 units in 2025.

As of September 4, 2025, 8,558 electric vehicles have already been imported into Kyrgyzstan. Once the limit is reached, a new batch of vehicles will be subject to a duty of 15% of the customs value.
