The mayor of Bishkek discussed investment and cultural cooperation with the Chinese ambassador

Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliyev held a meeting with Liu Jiangping, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Kyrgyzstan.

During the talks, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation, paying particular attention to the development of cooperation in the fields of culture, the economy, and business ties.

The mayor expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for its support and contribution to the city’s development. According to him, a number of joint initiatives have been implemented since the beginning of the year, including the hosting of the First Youth Delphic Games of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states in Bishkek.

Special attention was paid to investment projects during the meeting. In particular, the construction of an eco-technological plant for generating electricity through the recycling of solid municipal waste was identified as a priority area. Dzhunushaliyev emphasized the municipality’s readiness to continue supporting projects aimed at the city’s sustainable development.

In turn, Liu Jiangping noted the high level of sister-city ties between Bishkek and Chinese cities and emphasized that in recent years, the capital of Kyrgyzstan has demonstrated steady development momentum and strengthened its role as a key center of the country.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in further deepening bilateral cooperation and expanding collaboration in the interests of Bishkek’s sustainable development.
