Bishkek City Council monitors buses via GPS — any disconnections are recorded immediately

Mayor Aibek Junushaliyev stated that the city authorities are monitoring bus operations in real time via a GPS system. According to him, the council can see how many buses are on the road and also records instances where drivers switch off the GPS themselves.

The mayor spoke about this during the ‘Open Office’ event, while presenting the features of the My City app.

According to Dzhunushaliyev, the app has already been downloaded around 1.4 million times, and over 520,000 people use it daily. Through the service, residents can submit requests and complaints, which, according to the city council, are taken under consideration.

The mayor also noted that through the system, the authorities can check how city services and organisations respond to residents’ requests and how effectively they carry out their work.
