Meta described the opening of the Nomads’ Games in Kyrgyzstan as incredible

Meta’s official Instagram account reacted to the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games in Bishkek.

Under a video by British travel blogger Salma Masrur, the company wrote: “What an incredible way to kick off the Games.”

Masrour posted the video on 31 August. It shows excerpts from a large-scale performance at the ‘Bishkek Arena’ and the parade of delegations from the countries taking part in the Games. The post has received over 1,200 ‘Likes’.

Salma Masrour is a British travel blogger of Moroccan origin. She was born and raised in the UK, lives in London and describes herself as an independent Muslim traveller. She writes about tourist destinations, hotels, national cuisines and the cultural traditions of different countries. Her Instagram page has around 259,000 followers.

The post by the blogger, who has a large international following, and the response from Meta’s corporate account provided the ceremony with additional publicity beyond Kyrgyzstan.

The 6th World Nomad Games took place in Kyrgyzstan from 31 August to 6 September. According to the organisers, athletes from 104 countries registered to take part. The programme included equestrian events, national wrestling disciplines, archery and traditional intellectual games.
