Minister of Energy inspects construction of solar power plant in Issyk-Kul

Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic Taalaibek Ibraev visited the Issyk-Kul region and inspected the progress of construction of a solar power plant in the village of Kyzyl-Oruk.

According to Fam Min Banga, director of RECA LLC, work is proceeding according to schedule. 104.5 MW of solar panels have been delivered, and the pouring of the foundation for the substation and the installation of structures are being completed.

Ibraev demanded that quality control and deadlines be tightened. The first phase, with a capacity of 150 MW, will be completed in the first half of 2026, and the entire project is scheduled for completion in 2027.

According to data from open sources, the construction of such a power plant can vary from $1 billion to $2 billion. The cost of building the power plant in Kyzyl-Oruk had not been previously announced.
