    EAEU Economic Ministers Discuss Key Eurasian Integration Goals for 2025

    On 31 January, an important meeting of the heads of economy ministries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries took place in Almaty.e The key topics of discussion were the formats of cooperation and current problems in the development of the EAEU.

    Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics Eldar Alisherov presented the preliminary results of the implementation of the Strategic Directions for the Development of Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025.

    He noted that at the moment the countries of the Union together with the Commission have implemented 72 per cent of the planned activities.

    ‘2025 is the final year in the implementation of this strategic document, and we hope to achieve maximum results in the interests of our economies,’ the EEC Minister emphasised.

    In turn, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Belarus Alesya Abramenko, acting in the role of the Chairperson of Belarus in the EAEU bodies, presented the priority tasks for the next year, aimed at strengthening the integration interaction. Among them were highlighted the development of technological potential, import substitution, attraction of mutual investments, creation of a ‘seamless’ transport space, improvement of the agro-industrial complex (in particular, breeding and seed production), ensuring the security of the domestic market and digitalisation of the economy, including the development of e-commerce.
