05/08/2026, 13:58Erlist Akunbekov, Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, visited the “Dzhunda” oil refinery (China Petroleum Company CJSC) in Kara-Balta, where he reviewed the progress of the facility’s modernization.
During an on-site meeting attended by representatives of relevant government agencies and plant management, current production issues and measures to ensure the domestic market’s supply of fuels and lubricants were discussed.
According to the meeting’s findings, the refinery’s modernization is in its active phase. The delegation was briefed on the readiness of production facilities, as well as on the parallel implementation of an investment project to create an industrial park on the plant’s premises.
The Cabinet of Ministers emphasizes that the plant’s modernization is considered one of the key projects for the industrial sector. The modernization is expected to increase the depth of oil refining, reduce dependence on imported petroleum products, and create new jobs in the region.
Following the meeting, instructions were given to accelerate the work. The modernization is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.
