04/20/2026, 13:21Inspectors from the Issyk-Kul Regional Directorate of the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service have carried out another raid to combat poaching.
The operation was organised in accordance with a presidential decree and aimed at stopping illegal fishing in the waters of Lake Issyk-Kul.
During the raid, 1,200 metres of old synthetic nets manufactured in China were removed from the lake. These nets cause serious damage to fish stocks and pose a threat to the lake’s ecosystem.
Work in this area is continuing, and measures to combat illegal fishing are being stepped up. Steps are being taken to identify those involved.
