    Since the beginning of summer, 109 synthetic fishing nets have been seized on Issyk-Kul

    Since the beginning of June, 12 cases have been opened in the Issyk-Kul region for illegal fishing as part of enhanced environmental protection measures.

    The tourist and environmental police and other units of the regional internal affairs department are conducting raids in the coastal zone, bays, and river mouths.

    From June 1 to 12, 2025, 109 synthetic fishing nets were seized in the Issyk-Kul region. Twenty-two boats were voluntarily surrendered, and another six boats were seized during searches. Twelve criminal cases have been opened under Article 310 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (“Illegal hunting or fishing of fish or other aquatic animals”), and investigations are ongoing.

    Some citizens who were previously involved in illegal fishing voluntarily surrendered their equipment.
