09/26/2026, 15:45During a working visit to the Togolok gold deposit, Kubat Abdraimov, Chairman of the Board of “Kyrgyzaltyn,” launched the construction of a gold processing plant in the Sary-Bel area.The plant is part of the project to develop the Togolok gold deposit and is located 22 kilometers away from it.
The plant’s designed capacity will be 500,000 metric tons of ore per year.
During his working trip, Abdrayimov visited the deposit, toured the open-pit mine, and reviewed the progress of mining operations, geological exploration, and infrastructure construction. At the open-pit mine, he held a meeting with the management of Kumtor Gold Company and its subsidiary, Kumtor Operating Company. The participants discussed the pace of development at Togolok and the next stages of the project.
The head of “Kyrgyzaltyn” emphasized that the project is being implemented using the company’s own funds with the participation of domestic specialists.
“We are building a new production facility from scratch using our own resources and our own specialists,” said Abdraimov.
He instructed that the work schedule, environmental requirements, and industrial safety standards be strictly adhered to, and that appropriate working conditions be provided for employees.
At the site of the future plant in Sary-Bele, Abdrayimov laid a time capsule. According to him, the new enterprise is intended to be a long-term project that will contribute to the country’s economy.
The Togolok deposit was discovered in 1978. In 2023, Kumtor Operating Company received a license to develop it and conduct geological surveys of the Jangart area. Mining operations began in June 2026. Reserves of approximately 20 metric tons of gold from the deposit have been added to the state balance sheet. Geological exploration at Dzhangart is scheduled to be completed in 2027.
At the deposit, Abdrayimov reviewed the progress of mining and geological exploration work, as well as infrastructure construction. During an on-site meeting with the management of Kumtor Gold Company and its subsidiary, Kumtor Operating Company, they discussed the pace of development at Togolok and the next phases of the project.
