    The republican budget has allocated 7 billion 558 million soms for improving water supply in the Naryn region

    Projects to improve access to clean drinking water are being actively implemented in the Naryn region. Today, the level of clean water supply in the region is 84.6%.

    Projects funded by international financial institutions cover 43 villages in the Naryn region and will be implemented in 2020-2029. The total cost is $71.7 million.

    At present, construction work has been completed in six villages, the systems have been put into operation, and construction and installation work is underway in 15 villages. Tender evaluation is underway in seven villages, and design work is underway in 15 villages (duration: one year).

    The second phase of the project plans to provide water to 15 more villages and build local treatment facilities (LTFs) for domestic wastewater.

    A €12.7 million project is also being implemented in the city of Naryn. In the first phase (€6.2 million), 15 kilometres of water pipes and 6 kilometres of sewerage pipes were built, and 8 units of specialised equipment were purchased. In the second phase (€6.5 million), construction has begun on a modern treatment plant, 12 kilometres of new sewerage networks and 2 pumping stations.

    The republican budget includes funding for 18 villages, with design work planned in 10 villages and construction work planned in 8 villages.
