Taxpayers exempt from property tax reporting from 2025 Brief description

The State Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that from 1 January 2025, owners of residential houses, buildings and premises, as well as land plots related to agricultural land, are exempted from the need to submit property tax information calculations.

This means that they no longer need to submit the relevant documents to the tax authorities. However, the exemption does not apply to owners of non-residential buildings and land plots used for non-agricultural purposes: legal entities must submit calculations by 1 April, and individuals - by 1 May.

From the beginning of 2025, tax authorities will independently calculate taxes on residential buildings and agricultural land plots, sending notifications to taxpayers by 1 August of each tax period. Also, based on data provided by markets and mini-markets, the STS will automatically calculate taxes on non-residential objects, such as containers and hangars, which are located on the territory of markets and are not registered in the State Institution ‘Cadastre’.

This initiative has become possible due to the automation of tax processes and integration of information systems with state registration authorities. Modern digital solutions allow tax authorities to promptly obtain the necessary information, which reduces the administrative burden on taxpayers. The automation of processes increases the transparency of tax administration and minimises errors in tax assessment, creating a more favourable environment for taxpayers by saving time and resources.
