In the first four months of 2025, the region's foreign trade amounted to $9.7 million, of which imports accounted for $9.5 million and exports for $199,000. Compared to the same period last year, exports increased 2.6 times, while imports grew by almost one and a half times.
The main market for the Naryn region is the EAEU countries, primarily Russia and Kazakhstan. Total exports to EAEU countries amounted to $85,700, of which $69,900 went to Russia (an increase of almost five times) and $15,800 to Kazakhstan. Uzbekistan is also a significant market for the region, with exports estimated at $55.1 thousand, compared to zero exports from the region to this destination a year ago.
As for imports, the main share comes from Asian and European countries. Asia remains the largest supplier to the region, with imports amounting to $7.6 million, which is more than 80% of the total. The leading suppliers are China ($4.6 million) and Turkey ($2.8 million). Korea, Iran, the UAE and Japan also supply goods to the Naryn region.
European countries also remain important trading partners for imports, with supplies amounting to almost $1.8 million. The main suppliers are Austria ($937,300), Italy ($524,700), Germany ($140,800) and others. Interestingly, the region increased its imports from Europe by 5.3 times. Supplies from Austria increased almost 15 times, from Italy almost 8 times, and from Germany 4.2 times. At the same time, imports from the Netherlands almost ceased, amounting to $4.5 thousand compared to $106.2 thousand during the same period a year earlier.
