The National Bank announced a credit auction for 1 billion KGS to refinance banks

The National Bank announced a credit auction for the refinancing of commercial banks, which will take place on June 26, 2025. The volume of credit resources provided will amount to 1 billion KGS, with a loan term of 6 months.

The auction will be held at a fixed interest rate with mandatory co-financing from banks.

Specifically, for every 100 KGS from the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, banks must provide at least 50 KGS from their own resources.

The financing will be used to support projects in eight sectors: industry, agriculture and processing, transport and communications, services, trade and commerce, construction, tourism, and women's entrepreneurship.

The minimum interest rate on loans is set at the NBK's discount rate in effect on the day of the auction (author's note: currently, the discount rate is 9%). The maximum interest rate for end borrowers should not exceed the discount rate plus 2 percentage points. The amount of an application from one bank ranges from 50 to 500 million KGS.

Government securities with a maturity date not earlier than the loan maturity date, National Bank notes, foreign currency on interest-free deposits with the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, and rights to claim on the loan portfolio (up to 50% of the total collateral) are accepted as collateral for loans.

The minimum collateral coverage is at least 105%, and for claims rights, at least 200%. Interest payments will be made monthly on the 1st day of each month.
