04/01/2026, 16:00The National Bank has fined ten currency exchange operators in the southern part of the country. The reason is that they did not have licenses to conduct such operations. This was reported by the Osh Regional Office of the regulator.
The violations were detected in the city of Osh and the Aravan District of Osh Region. Each violator was fined 17,500 KGS, for a total of 175,000 KGS.
As a reminder, conducting foreign currency exchange operations in Kyrgyzstan is permitted only with the appropriate license. Operating outside the legal framework entails administrative liability.
In March of this year alone, the regulator recorded a series of mass violations. In total, these incidents alone involve at least 13 citizens held accountable for illegal currency exchange, not counting today’s report of 10 violators in Osh.
