06/16/2025, 16:22The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan intends to extend the ban on charging commissions for transfers in national currency. This was announced today by the Chairman of the NBKR Melis Turgunbaev at a meeting of the Committee on Budget and Finance of the Jogorku Kenesh.
Initially it was assumed that the measure will be in force until December 31, 2025. However, according to the head of the National Bank, it is planned to extend the initiative, taking into account its positive impact on the availability of financial services for the population.
The decision concerns only domestic transfers in soms, including transfers to bank cards of international payment systems issued by commercial banks of Kyrgyzstan.
Recall that since November 25, 2024, Kyrgyzstan has abolished the fee for money transfers in soms as part of efforts to develop non-cash payments and improve financial accessibility.
