07/03/2025, 09:27On July 2, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin during a working visit to Moscow. The meeting took place in a small and expanded format. The main focus was on economic and humanitarian ties between the two countries.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the level of strategic partnership and alliance. According to Vladimir Putin, trade between Russia and Kyrgyzstan continues to grow, including thanks to increased trade in early 2025. He also emphasized the role of Russian companies operating in Kyrgyzstan and confirmed Russia's status as one of the country's leading economic partners.
The contribution of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, through which significant projects in the economy and infrastructure have been implemented, was noted separately. Putin also stated the importance of developing humanitarian cooperation, especially in the field of education — 200 Russian teachers work in 43 schools in Kyrgyzstan, and the program will be expanded.
In turn, Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that there are no political differences between the countries and that the format of dialogue allows for strengthening cooperation. According to him, energy, industry, transport, and agriculture remain promising areas. He noted the importance of the work of the Kyrgyz-Russian Intergovernmental Commission and expressed confidence in the further expansion of cooperation.
Following the talks, the leaders confirmed their commitment to strengthening economic, investment, and humanitarian ties, including within the framework of their alliance obligations.
