Mandatory Insurance Brings Nearly KGS 549 Million to Insurers in the First Quarter

Insurance companies in Kyrgyzstan collected KGS 548.9 million in premiums from mandatory insurance policies in January–March 2026. During the reporting period, more than 204.3 thousand contracts were signed, while the total insured amount exceeded KGS 223.9 billion.

The largest share of the market came from liability insurance. Nearly 130 thousand contracts were concluded in this segment, generating KGS 488.7 million in premiums, or about 89% of all mandatory insurance premium collections. The most popular product was motor third-party liability insurance, which accounted for 114.1 thousand contracts and KGS 268.8 million in premiums.

During the first quarter, insurers recorded 2,163 insured events and paid out a total of KGS 208.8 million in claims. Most of the payouts were made under liability insurance, totaling KGS 189.4 million. Of this amount, KGS 177.7 million was paid to vehicle owners involved in insured incidents. Property insurance claims accounted for an additional KGS 19.4 million in payouts.
