Online Loans in Kyrgyzstan: Why You’ll Now Have to Wait Up to 12 Hours for Your Money

The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan has established a mandatory waiting period for the issuance of online loans in amounts of 50,001 KGS or more. For loans ranging from 50,001 to 100,000 KGS, the waiting period will be four hours, and for loans of 100,001 KGS or more, it will be 12 hours.

The changes apply to commercial banks and microfinance organizations. When issuing an online loan of 100,001 KGS or more, the lender must also call the customer to confirm their consent to the loan.

The waiting period does not apply to loans where funds are transferred directly to the seller or supplier of goods and services, such as when making a purchase on an installment plan. The new rules will take effect on December 1, 2026, with certain provisions taking effect on February 1, 2027.
