08/08/2025, 17:19The outflow of foreign direct investment from Kyrgyzstan in the first quarter of 2025 increased 1.8 times and amounted to $182 million compared to the same period in 2024.
The main reason for the increase in outflows was the growth of reinvested profits and trade credits. At the same time, 94.3% of the outflow came from enterprises in the financial intermediation and insurance, mining, manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, and geological exploration sectors.
Outflows from financial and insurance companies increased 4.7 times. In manufacturing, trade, and geological exploration, outflows grew 1.3 times, and in mining, they increased by 20.4%.
In terms of geography, the outflow of investment to countries outside the CIS increased 1.6 times, mainly due to growth in investments in Turkey, the US, Switzerland, and the Channel Islands. The outflow to CIS countries increased 2.8 times, mainly due to Kazakhstan and Russia.
The largest share of outflows went to China (23.5%), Turkey (15.6%), Kazakhstan (15.1%), Russia (9.9%), the US (7.7%), Switzerland (6.3%), and the Channel Islands (5.1%).
An increase in investment outflows was observed in all regions of Kyrgyzstan, with the exception of the Naryn and Talas regions.
