From milk to vegetables: Hungarian companies to showcase their technologies in Bishkek

The Hungarian Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, in collaboration with the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, will host the 2nd Hungarian-Kyrgyz Food Industry Forum in Bishkek.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet representatives of leading Hungarian companies specialising in the manufacture of equipment for processing vegetables, fruit and milk.

For example, Maurer Gep is a Hungarian manufacturer and developer specialising in machinery for processing fruit and vegetables. The company provides clients with a full range of services, from implementation plans to plant installation. Maurer Gep’s extensive sales network enables it to operate effectively almost anywhere in the world. A distinctive feature of the company is the diversity of its production lines, particularly mobile fruit processing. This unique solution is ideal for cooperatives bringing together farmers or several villages, providing flexibility and accessibility to processing facilities.

Another company set to share its expertise with Kyrgyzstan is InnovaSter-Trade Ltd., which manufactures equipment for the food industry and supplies complete processing lines and canning plants for the production of tinned sweetcorn, green peas, beans, gherkins and tomatoes. The company specialises in the manufacture of sterilisation and pasteurisation equipment. Representatives from UNIMATIK, which specialises in the production of processing equipment and production lines for the food industry, will also discuss their services, which cover the full cycle of work — from technical planning to installation and commissioning, as well as ongoing technical support.

Incidentally, a similar forum was held last year, and the outcome highlighted a high level of interest among companies from both the Kyrgyz and Hungarian sides in upgrading existing production lines or opening new ones.

Negotiations are currently underway between Kyrgyz and Hungarian companies, including both large and small enterprises, which demonstrates the interest of Kyrgyz companies in Hungarian expertise.

This is particularly relevant given that the agricultural processing sector has been actively developing in Kyrgyzstan in recent years. For a country where the agricultural sector remains one of the key sectors of the economy, the introduction of modern processing technologies is of great importance. This not only allows for an increase in the volume of finished products, but also creates new jobs, boosts export potential and reduces dependence on imports of processed goods.

The forum will take place on 19 May in the ‘Budapest’ conference hall at the Hungarian Embassy. To participate, you must register by 14 May.
