‘Rating — 11 out of 10’: Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry calls 2025 a favourable year for Kyrgyzstan-China relations

In 2025, relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and China reached a new level, according to Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev, following meetings in Astana and at the SCO summit.

2025 was one of the most successful years in the history of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations. This was stated by a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic at a conference dedicated to the results of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry's activities in 2025.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, if the results of the year of relations between China and Kyrgyzstan are assessed on a ten-point scale, they deserve ‘11 out of 10’. The ministry explains this high rating by the intensive political dialogue and sustained support from the People's Republic of China on all key issues.

A number of significant high-level meetings took place during the year. Negotiations were held in Astana within the framework of the ‘Central Asia-China’ format. In this format, the Kyrgyz side held bilateral meetings with the President of the PRC, during which both bilateral projects and issues of multilateral cooperation were discussed.

Expectations for 2026 are no less high. The ministry reported that active preparations for the state visit of the President of the People's Republic of China to the Kyrgyz Republic have already begun.
