The EEC and the Government of Uzbekistan signed the plan of cooperation for 2024-2026

In Yerevan, on the margins of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev and Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov signed the plan of joint activities of the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Government of Uzbekistan for 2024-2026.

The plan covers such areas as customs and technical regulation, economy, finance, trade policy, competition and antimonopoly regulation, public procurement, industry and agro-industrial complex, energy and transport, informatisation and macroeconomics, sanitary, veterinary-sanitary and quarantine phytosanitary measures, as well as consumer protection.

Sagintayev noted that the implementation of measures in these areas should strengthen trade and economic ties between the EAEU countries and Uzbekistan. Aripov emphasised the importance of practical partnership with the EEC for the implementation of multilateral projects within the framework of strategic directions of the EAEU development.

Uzbekistan has the status of an observer state at the EAEU. In December 2023, the implementation of the first plan of joint activities of the EEC and the government of Uzbekistan for 2021-2023, which included additional areas of cooperation, was completed. This allowed to set new points of growth and opportunities for economic partnership. The implementation of the plan demonstrated the high involvement of Uzbekistan's public administration bodies in utilising the opportunities offered by the status of an observer state to the EAEU.
