Livestock production accounts for almost 99% of agricultural production in Kyrgyzstan

In January-February 2025, gross output of agriculture, forestry and fisheries totalled KGS 26.1 billion, up 2.1% year-on-year. The main contribution to the growth of the indicator was made by the increase in livestock production, which accounted for 98.6% of the total production.

The largest share in the total volume of agricultural products traditionally belongs to Chui oblast - 25.2%. Osh (16.7%), Jalal-Abad (15%) and Issyk-Kul (14.4%) oblasts also made significant contributions. Farms and private subsidiary farms produced 95.2% of agricultural products.

The republic also started preparing seeds for spring sowing, which will be an important stage for the upcoming agricultural season.
