04/12/2026, 09:09According to data from the Ministry of Finance, Kyrgyzstan’s budget revenues from the mining tax totaled 1.73 million soms in January–February. The entire amount was credited to the national budget.
By comparison, during the same period in 2025, the budget received 13.94 million soms, representing a more than eightfold decrease in revenue.
The sharp drop in revenue coincides with the previously announced suspension of mining farm operations. In November 2025, Sadyr Zhaparov stated that only two legal mining farms are operating in the country—and both are under state control.
“Both farms have been temporarily shut down—despite their benefits,” the president noted, explaining the decision as necessary to get through the winter period.
