Entrepreneurs are now permitted to apply for a trading licence entirely online

The State Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan has launched a new online service enabling entrepreneurs to apply for and pay for a trading licence via their taxpayer account without having to visit the tax authorities.

The new service is available to entrepreneurs operating in markets, mini-markets, as well as in shops, pavilions, kiosks and other retail outlets. When applying for a trade licence outside markets, you must specify your estimated annual turnover, on which the rate is based.

To obtain a trade licence, you must log in to the taxpayer’s portal, go to the ‘Correspondence with the State Tax Service’ section and select the ‘Trade Licence’ service. You then need to create an application, fill in the details of the taxpayer and the retail outlet, and save the document.

After submitting the application, you must locate the licence in the register of applications and select the ‘Pay’ function. Next, you should select the months for which payment is to be made. The system will automatically generate a payment code and a QR code, which you can use to make the payment by any convenient method.

The State Tax Service reminds users that the payment code and QR code are only valid until the end of the day on which they are generated. If payment is not made on time, the application will automatically be transferred to the register of rejected applications.

Once the funds have been received, the licence is activated automatically.

To view and obtain the document in electronic format, you need to locate it in the register of applications, click the ‘Actions’ button and select the ‘Print’ function. You can then save or print the patent.

The introduction of this service is aimed at simplifying business interactions with the tax authorities and reducing the time taken to fulfil tax obligations. The entire process — from submitting the application to receiving the patent — is now available online.
