The president opened a school in the Aravan District and announced a pay raise for public sector employees

During a working visit to the Osh Region, Sadyr Zhaparov attended the opening of School No. 47, named after Ergesh Kebekbayev, in the village of Gulbaar in the Aravan District.

The new two-story building is designed to accommodate 150 students and was built to replace a dilapidated structure dating from 1980. Despite its design capacity, the school already has 320 students attending in two shifts. This reflects the continuing shortage of educational infrastructure in the regions.

The Head of State also reviewed the socio-economic development plans for the Aravan District. According to local authorities:

  • in 2021–2025, 954 million KGS were allocated to road infrastructure, and 105 kilometers of asphalt were laid;
  • more than 50 social facilities were commissioned;
  • production volume increased by more than 1.5 times;
  • several thousand jobs were created.

Promising projects include the creation of an industrial center, the construction of a reservoir, and the development of housing infrastructure.

According to the president, the budget for the Osh Region in 2026 amounts to 9.6 billion KGS, with additional funding allocated for the region’s development.

In 2025, 8.5 billion KGS were allocated for capital investments; this year, 1.7 billion KGS have been allocated, with a possible increase.

“Currently, 20 investment projects totaling 52 billion KGS are being implemented in the Osh Region in the areas of infrastructure, water supply, healthcare, ecology, transportation, and regional development. This confirms the steady momentum of project implementation and high interest from international donors and financial institutions,” the president noted.

Sadyr Zhaparov announced that a pay raise for public sector employees, including teachers, healthcare workers, and cultural and sports staff, is planned for late April.

Additionally, as part of the digitalization of education, more than 1,100 laptops have already been distributed to teachers in the Aravan District.
