President: Kyrgyzstan to develop bean processing and the production of finished goods

Today, 12 September, a bean processing plant was officially opened in the village of Min-Bulak, Bakai-Ata District, Talas Region, with President Sadyr Zhaparov in attendance.

The total cost of the project is 200 million KGS. The plant’s production capacity is 10 tonnes per hour. Once operating at full capacity, the plant will create 104 new jobs.

The plant will receive, clean, sort, grade, dry and pack beans. In the future, there are plans to establish further processing and the production of finished food products.

The launch of the plant will provide farmers in the Talas Region with additional opportunities for the stable sale of their harvest. Furthermore, it is planned to export the produce not only as raw materials, but also in processed and finished forms.

Beans are one of the main agricultural sectors in the Talas Region. Last year, 55,000 hectares in the region were sown with this crop, and the harvest amounted to around 80,000 tonnes.
As Sadyr Zhaparov noted, the main objective for the future is to process domestically grown agricultural produce within Kyrgyzstan, increase its added value and produce finished goods.

As part of the events marking the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, 60 new industrial and social facilities were also officially opened today across the country, with the ceremonies taking place online.
