10/23/2026, 14:02Kyrgyzstan’s agro-industrial sector now includes 75 large and medium-sized enterprises, nine trade and logistics centers, 65 cooperatives, and 22 machinery and tractor stations. This was announced by Erlist Akunbekov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, at the opening of the “AgroTechExpo-2026” exhibition and the “Altyn Küz” fair on October 23 in Bishkek.
According to him, the development of production and logistics infrastructure is accompanied by an expansion of state support for the agricultural sector. A total of 1,724 pieces of equipment have been leased to agricultural producers, 2,000 jobs have been created, and international quality standards have been implemented at 32 enterprises.
From January through September 2026, the volume of agricultural production in Kyrgyzstan reached 399.5 billion KGS, an increase of 6.5% compared to the same period last year. The processing industry produced goods worth 92.7 billion KGS, showing a 9.4% increase.
At the same time, the scale of government funding for the sector expanded. Whereas support for agriculture and the processing industry was previously provided through two projects, that number increased to eight in 2026.
“Over the first nine months of this year, 10,453 business entities received preferential loans totaling 12.537 million KGS under these projects,” Akunbekov reported.
Thus, the average amount of preferential financing per recipient was approximately 1.2 million KGS.
Among the government’s further priorities are increasing the share of domestic agricultural raw materials processed to 25%, doubling agricultural exports, expanding cultivated areas, and developing livestock breeding.
There are also plans to improve drip irrigation systems, increase the availability of irrigation water for agricultural land, and develop the “Smart Agriculture” digital platform. The government intends to use the capabilities of the national satellite to monitor land and water resources.
The “AgroTechExpo-2026” exhibition and the “Altyn Küz” fair are taking place from October 23 to 25 at Turdakun Usubaliev Square in Bishkek. The event features agricultural machinery, breeding livestock, products from domestic manufacturers, and modern agricultural technologies. As part of the food fair, products are sold at discounted prices.
