02/18/2026, 13:12The Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic continues the phased commissioning of the second hydroelectric unit of the Kambarata HPP-2. The project aims to increase electricity production and improve the reliability of the country's power grid.
Funding is provided by the Eurasian Stabilisation and Development Fund, and technical supervision is carried out by the international company Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG. The work is organised into three lots, which has made it possible to attract contractors with international experience.
To date, the main construction and technical activities have been completed, the project is being implemented according to the approved schedule and is gradually increasing Kyrgyzstan's generating capacity.
