06/19/2025, 12:29The QS Global University Rankings has published its list of the world's best universities for 2026, which includes five universities from Kyrgyzstan. This was reported on their website.
QS World University Rankings is a global university ranking compiled annually. It is one of the three most authoritative university rankings in the world.
The top five are led by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Imperial College London, Stanford University, Oxford University and Harvard University.
Incidentally, for the second year in a row, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) ranks first among the world's best universities, and nearly 500 universities have improved their performance compared to last year.
The biggest jump in the ranking was made by Sunway University in Malaysia, which rose 120 places.
Kyrgyz universities also made it onto the list: AUCA ranked between 901 and 950, the Kyrgyz-Turkish University ‘Manas’ ranked between 951 and 1000, KRSU ranked between 1001 and 1200, Jusu Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University ranked between 1201 and 1400, and Razzakov Kyrgyz Technical University ranked between 1201 and 1400.
The QS World University Rankings 2026 lists more than 1,500 of the world's best universities in over 100 countries.
The ranking is based on an analysis and evaluation of universities according to several criteria. For example, the quality of education at the university is taken into account, as well as how its graduates find employment after graduation.
