The reconstruction of the Suusamyr–Talas–Taraz motorway is progressing rapidly in Kyrgyzstan

Work on the fourth phase of the Suusamyr–Talas–Taraz motorway reconstruction in the Kyrgyz Republic is continuing at a rapid pace. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport.

Work is currently underway on the site to level and widen the roadbed, relocate culverts, dismantle power line pylons, and construct bridges. The project involves more than 147 pieces of machinery and 229 workers. Two asphalt plants, a concrete plant and crushing units are also in operation.

The length of the section under reconstruction is 93 km — from the city of Talas to the ‘Kichi-Kapka’ border crossing. Completion of the works is scheduled for 2025–2028, and the project’s warranty period will be five years.

The project involves the reconstruction of six bridges, the construction of an underpass, and the installation of pavements and street lighting in built-up areas. As a result, the road’s technical category will be upgraded from Category III to Category II.
