Russian investors want to launch sunflower oil production in the Chui Region

Investors from Russia’s Samara Region are considering the possibility of building an oil and fat processing plant in the Ysyk-Ata District of the Chui Region. The project was discussed at a meeting between Minister of Agriculture Erlist Akunbekov and the Russian delegation.

According to the proposed project, the facility will be able to produce up to 400 tons of refined sunflower oil per day. The plant plans to use modern cold-refining technologies.

The parties discussed the prospects for implementing the project, the development of the processing industry, and attracting investment into Kyrgyzstan’s agro-industrial sector.

For his part, Erlist Akunbekov stated the government’s readiness to provide support for the project’s implementation.

For Kyrgyzstan, the launch of such a facility is of strategic importance. Sunflower oil is included in the list of socially significant goods, the prices of which directly affect inflation and household expenses. At the same time, the republic remains heavily dependent on oil imports due to the lack of large-scale processing facilities within the country.
