02/25/2026, 10:50A large-scale renovation of the Dostuk hotel complex is underway in Bishkek, with a Turkish investor planning to invest between $15 million and $25 million. The project is being implemented as part of an investment agreement after the facility was transferred to the Directorate for the Management of Sanatorium, Resort, Health, and Tourism Facilities under the Presidential Administration.
After the facility was transferred to the Directorate, 35.59% of the hotel's shares, previously owned by a private shareholder, were returned to the state.
In addition, the investor will invest $5 million in the modernization of the Sayakat tourist complex. However, it is Dostuk that is becoming the largest modernization project with the most significant financial participation of the investor.
Before being transferred to state management, the hotel had not undergone comprehensive repairs for many years. As a result, the engineering networks were worn out, some of the equipment was outdated, the electrical systems did not meet modern safety requirements, and some elements of the infrastructure were in disrepair.
As part of the renovation, the electrical networks are being completely modernized with the installation of energy-efficient equipment, the water supply and sewage systems are being updated, the facades, roof, and interior are being repaired, and the heating system is being restored. The investor intends to bring the hotel up to international standards.
It is noted that the hotel will not be open during the renovation period. Nevertheless, the investor has committed to paying annual rent payments of 40.8 million KGS, increasing to 80.58 million KGS from the fourth quarter of 2027 and to 100.9 million KGS annually from 2029 to 2049.
